The National Bank of Moldova published its December 2025 update on foreign-currency demand and supply in the domestic foreign-exchange market. Net foreign-currency supply from individuals covered 92.1% of economic agents’ net demand, and the central bank conducted no interventions during the month. Compared with November 2025, net foreign-currency supply from individuals increased by EUR 90.3 million to EUR 308.7 million, while net sales of foreign currency to legal entities rose by EUR 92.3 million to EUR 335.3 million. For January–December 2025, individuals’ net supply totalled EUR 3,163.7 million and net sales to legal entities reached EUR 3,748.2 million, with the coverage ratio at 84.4% versus 84.6% in January–December 2024. The average leu exchange rate against the euro moved from MDL 19.7041 per EUR in November to MDL 19.7993 per EUR in December, and the euro accounted for 74.7% of individuals’ net foreign-currency supply.
