The Bank of Namibia and the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority signed an updated Memorandum of Agreement to strengthen cooperation in regulating and supervising Namibia’s financial sector, alongside formalising the Terms of Reference for a joint technical working group focused on responsible FinTech development. The agreement sets a framework for information sharing, joint supervision and regulatory oversight covering banking institutions, financial institutions and financial intermediaries. It also links to Namibia’s efforts to meet international standards, including NAMFISA’s application to become a full signatory to the International Organization of Securities Commissions Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding.
