The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) has launched the 50th Annual Meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in Doha, a three-day event bringing together regulators and capital markets experts to discuss regulatory and market priorities. The programme focuses on challenges including digitalisation, cybersecurity and market sustainability, alongside discussions on fintech, artificial intelligence, market efficiency and investor protection, capital market infrastructure, and transparency and disclosure. The first day included closed-door meetings of IOSCO committees, including the Affiliate Members Consultative Committee, regional committees for Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East, Inter-America and Europe, and the Growth and Emerging Markets Committee, with high-level participation from IOSCO leadership and representatives from over 130 member jurisdictions. The meeting is scheduled to run for three days.
