The Egmont Group’s Executive Secretary, Jerome Beaumont, intervened at the London publication event for the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) report on combating online child sexual exploitation (OCSE) through financial intelligence, focusing on how to operationalise the report’s findings. The intervention highlighted the role of Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) in identifying and tracking illicit financial flows linked to online child sexual exploitation, alongside practical challenges around international information-sharing and the support FIUs provide in cross-border cases. Beaumont also pointed to Egmont’s prior project work and training offer in this area, and stressed the need to strengthen public-private partnerships and international cooperation; the Egmont Group noted it contributed to the FATF report and will continue supporting efforts through training, detection and intervention, and cooperation.
