The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission announced it will spearhead the sixth nationwide Investor Protection Week from 8 to 14 November, using the theme “InvestED Tayo sa Kinabukasang Sigurado” to emphasise investor education as a tool for better financial decision-making and protection against investment scams and predatory lending. The programme will open on 8 November with the Run for Financial Literacy in Intramuros, and the SEC’s headquarters in Makati City will host activities from 10 to 14 November focused on financial literacy, smart and sustainable capital market investing, vigilance against scams, and responsible borrowing. Other government and private-sector partners will join, including the Department of Finance, Bureau of the Treasury, Philippine Stock Exchange, and Philippine Anti-Organized Crime Commission, with parallel activities planned across SEC extension offices; Investor Protection Week is observed in the second week of November under Proclamation No. 486 and is linked to the International Organization of Securities Commissions’ World Investor Week.
