The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission hosted the plenary meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions’ Committee on Regulation of Secondary Markets in Hong Kong on 22–23 April 2026, convening global securities regulators to exchange views on key issues affecting secondary markets and regulatory responses to a changing trading environment. Discussions covered the implementation of extended trading hours, challenges around market liquidity and volatility, and ongoing efforts to strengthen global market resilience. The SFC’s Executive Director of Supervision of Markets, Rico Leung, linked the meeting to Hong Kong’s role in international financial regulation and reiterated the SFC’s focus on contributing to global standards and cross-border cooperation to support market integrity and investor protection.
