Portugal’s Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority (ASF) has published details of the “ASF Research Award”, an annual initiative intended to encourage scientific research that supports the development of Portugal’s insurance and pension funds markets. The 5th edition (2025/2026) focuses on the areas of economics, mathematics and technology and carries a prize of EUR 7,500. Entries are accepted until the end of the first quarter of 2026, with the winner(s) to be publicly announced by mid-July 2026. Submissions will be assessed by an independent jury based on scientific quality and rigour, originality and relevance to the national insurance and pension funds sectors; the 2025/2026 jury is chaired by Prof. João Andrade e Silva (ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management) and includes Prof. Manuel Esquível (Universidade Nova de Lisboa) and Dr. José Veiga Sarmento (pension funds sector professional).
