The Bank of the Lao’s Banking Institute ran a “Basic knowledge for new employees” training course from 1–12 September 2025, with 65 newly recruited staff participating to build foundational understanding of banking-sector work in a structured way. The programme combined theoretical instruction with practical sessions linked to the Bank of the Lao’s operational activities and was delivered by instructors from relevant technical departments. Topics included the Lao PDR Banking Law, civil service rules and staff ethics, monetary policy, financial stability, payment systems, foreign exchange management, and supervision of commercial banks and other financial institutions.
