The Bank of Cape Verde announced that its governor, Óscar Santos, will host Bank of Portugal Governor Mário Centeno from 3 to 5 April 2025 as part of bilateral central bank cooperation, with the programme centred on the presentation of new financial education materials in Cape Verdean Creole. The materials were developed jointly by the two central banks in partnership with the NGO Mundu Nôbu and will be presented at the Bank of Cape Verde auditorium on 3 April at 10:15. Copies of the materials will also be distributed at schools in Praia (Liceu Cónego Jacinto, 3 April at 15:00), Mindelo (Liceu Ludgero Lima, 4 April) and Ribeira Grande de Santo Antão (Liceu Coculi, 5 April). During the visit, Centeno is scheduled to deliver economics lessons to 11th-grade students on different islands, in line with the Bank of Cape Verde’s role in strengthening financial education and financial literacy through training, awareness actions and partnerships.
