The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo published balance of payments statistics through December 2024, showing a current account deficit of EUR 920.77 million, up 26.24% year on year. The goods trade deficit reached EUR 4,926.82 million, 7.15% higher than the same period a year earlier, with exports rising 9.82% to EUR 956.21 million and imports up 7.57% to EUR 5,883.03 million. The services account remained in surplus at EUR 1,792.03 million, up 9.99%, while primary income posted a surplus of EUR 215.36 million, up 8.28%. Secondary income recorded a surplus of EUR 1,998.66 million, down 2.06%, with remittances rising 1.44% to EUR 1,355.01 million. In the financial account, assets showed a positive balance of EUR 605.57 million and liabilities a positive balance of EUR 1,254.72 million; direct investment in Kosovo totalled EUR 856.06 million (up 1.90%) and outward direct investment EUR 224.87 million, while reserve assets increased by EUR 69.71 million.
