The Portuguese Insurance Regulator has opened registrations for InovaSup Day 2026, an event scheduled for Sept. 15 in Lisbon under its InovaSup program. Using a reverse-pitch format, ASF will present specific supervisory problems and invite companies, startups, entrepreneurs and academic institutions to design artificial intelligence tools with potential real-world supervisory use. The initiative is intended to strengthen more proactive, predictive, data-driven and risk-based supervision by automating processes, improving the use of available information and building scalable tools. The four challenges focus on core supervisory workflows. ConsumerFlow covers automation of complaint and inquiry handling, including case classification, checks against legal requirements and preparation of responses from predefined templates. DataExtract targets extraction and processing of qualitative and quantitative information from key information documents in PDF format, data structuring, validation against regulatory requirements and identification of trends, risks and noncompliance. SpeedReading is aimed at faster analysis of narrative and quantitative reports through extraction, synthesis and cross-checking of information. ClauseCompliance focuses on reviewing insurance policies to flag potentially abusive clauses and compare contract wording with relevant legal instruments and case law. The event will include presentation of the challenges, working sessions and discussions with ASF specialists. Registrations are open for participation in the Sept. 15 event in Lisbon.
