Mitchell joined the FDIC in 2010 and was named division director in May 2022. In the role, he oversaw the agency’s monitoring of existing and emerging risks to the Deposit Insurance Fund and led the division’s response to the 2023 regional bank failures. His prior FDIC positions included Deputy Director for Risk Analysis and Pricing, Associate Director of Asset Management in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships, and Chief of the division’s Large Bank Pricing section.
