The Insurance Supervision Agency of Montenegro reported on its support for and participation in the fifth annual Eastern European Risk and Insurance Association conference, held in Podgorica from Sept. 17 to 19. Discussions focused on 10 years of Solvency II implementation, regulatory and supervisory practices, and emerging challenges in insurance and risk management. Agency Council Chair Marko Ivanović presented trends in Montenegro’s insurance market and its regulatory and supervisory framework. Agency Director Branko Barjaktarović joined a panel with representatives from the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority, Austria’s supervisory and insurance sectors, and Montenegro’s insurance industry to examine Solvency II experience and the future development of European insurance supervision. Research sessions also addressed climate and environmental, social and governance risks, technology and data, investment performance, and new and behavioral risks.
