The Central Bank of Russia has removed the Bulgarian lev from the list of foreign currencies for which it sets official exchange rates against the Russian ruble. The change takes effect from 12 January 2026 and follows the introduction of the euro as Bulgaria’s national currency and the withdrawal of the Bulgarian lev from circulation on 1 January 2026.
