Czech National Bank publishes Czech list of monetary financial institutions for statistical reporting

The Czech National Bank has published the list of monetary financial institutions in the Czech Republic for monetary and financial statistics, setting out which institutions fall within the national monetary financial institution sector. Banks and foreign bank branches included on the list are subject to reporting obligations to the Czech National Bank under the cited reporting decrees. For these purposes, monetary financial institutions are defined as the central bank, resident banks and other resident financial institutions that receive deposits or close substitutes from entities other than monetary financial institutions and, for their own account, grant loans or invest in securities. In the Czech Republic, the sector comprises the central bank, commercial banks, credit unions and money market funds. The European System of Central Banks continuously monitors and updates monetary financial institution lists across both euro area and non-euro area European Union countries, and the ECB updates the wider list daily on its website.
