The Central Bank of Libya announced that Tripoli will host the 5th Arab Conference on Savings and Financial Literacy from Sept. 7 to 9, 2026, in cooperation with Mena Money Foundation of Bahrain. The conference will be held under the theme "Financial Intelligence in an Age of Volatility" and will focus on financial literacy, financial inclusion and sustainable financial awareness. The event is expected to bring together policymakers, experts, academics and financial sector leaders from across the Arab world and international institutions. The announcement also states that participation will be free and open to everyone, and presents Tripoli's selection as the "Capital of Financial Literacy" as part of Libya's expanding role in regional economic and knowledge dialogue. The conference is scheduled to take place in Tripoli over three days in September 2026.
