The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has notified businesses that six ships have been specified under the Russia sanctions regime: Arctic Express, Perseas, Torvian, Asteras, Visund and Zenturo. The vessels’ inclusion on the UK sanctions list takes effect in the Bailiwick under Guernsey’s framework implementing UK sanctions regimes. All businesses must check for relationships linked to the ships, comply with applicable obligations and immediately report any findings to the States of Guernsey Policy & Resources Committee. Affected firms must then report to the Commission as soon as reasonably practicable after meeting the statutory reporting requirements, providing at least the relevant customer, beneficial owner, key principal, transaction or asset details and the nature and value of the relationship or transaction.
