The National Bank of Georgia has published the third 2026 issue of its scientific and analytical journal, Monetary Economics, featuring articles by bank staff and external authors. The issue examines geopolitical shock transmission, constraints on business financing and alternative funding channels for Georgia. Articles address the financial and real economy channels through which geopolitical shocks spread, alongside the theoretical foundations and measurement of financing constraints for small and medium enterprises and the hierarchy of government intervention. Other contributions examine credit derivatives and securitization as alternative funding channels for Georgia, empirical findings on factors shaping trust in stable virtual assets in Georgia, and the bank’s experience with an integrated model for producing statistics. The journal is published in Georgian and English.
