Representatives of the Ukraine National Commission on Securities and Stock Market participated in a seminar examining the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s preliminary conclusions and recommendations on improving financial markets and corporate governance under the OECD Program for Ukraine. The seminar presented work from the first and second stages of the OECD Review, including findings from 20 virtual interviews with Ukrainian stakeholders, and brought together the OECD, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Monetary Fund. A dedicated session discussed capital market development and the Commission’s powers, including an integrated stock exchange structure, updating the Commission’s listing requirements, and accelerating the development and adoption of by-laws to improve oversight and enforcement procedures, alongside recommendations to strengthen the regulator’s institutional capacity and systems for monitoring companies’ compliance with corporate governance standards.
