The Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) reported that Governor Yahya Shunnar met a delegation from the Nablus Businessmen Forum to discuss strengthening cooperation between the banking sector and the private sector, including the PMA’s role in supporting economic activity and encouraging investment amid current economic challenges. Governor Shunnar highlighted the role of the private sector in economic development and reaffirmed the PMA’s commitment to providing tools and an enabling environment to support growth. The discussion also covered the PMA’s efforts to develop the banking sector and enhance products for merchants and businesspeople, including advancing electronic payment services, promoting financial inclusion, and fostering a secure banking environment. The Forum delegation commended the PMA’s role in maintaining financial and banking stability and facilitating access to financing and digital infrastructure, while raising banking-related challenges facing merchants and broader commercial activity and calling for continued coordination.
