The State Bank of Vietnam published an account of Vietnam’s participation at Sibos 2025 in Frankfurt, where a delegation including Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh joined Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh in meetings with SWIFT and international banks and promoted deeper international financial integration, including exploring the possibility of hosting Sibos in Vietnam. The State Bank of Vietnam organised a national banking booth for Vietnamese commercial banks, with VietinBank, Agribank and Vietcombank presenting their digital banking strategies and international payments capabilities. The delegation met SWIFT Chief Executive Officer Javier Perez Tasso and requested SWIFT consider holding Sibos in Vietnam, with SWIFT indicating continued cooperation to support international financial connectivity. Separately, Standard Chartered indicated it would support fintech, digital finance and sustainable finance in Vietnam, while J.P. Morgan, citing over 30 years’ presence in the country, expressed interest in expanding cooperation on international payments, liquidity provision and financial services for the State Bank of Vietnam.
