The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) swore in 44 new permanent staff members at a ceremony at its Rio de Janeiro headquarters, all recruited through the CVM 2024 public service exam. The commission framed the intake as its first institutional staffing reinforcement with new civil servants in more than 14 years. The CVM 2024 exam was held on 23 June 2024 to fill 60 higher-education positions across Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, comprising 40 analyst roles and 20 inspector roles. Seven additional successful candidates are scheduled to take office at the CVM’s São Paulo regional office on 23 January, and the complete list of appointees and their city allocations was published in Brazil’s Official Gazette on 31 December 2024.
