The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced that Chairman Michael S. Selig will sponsor the CFTC’s Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC) and opened a nominations process to fill current vacancies on the committee, with submissions due by 18 February. The AAC advises the Commission on agricultural derivatives market regulatory issues and priorities affecting producers, processors, consumers and other stakeholders, and is authorized to submit reports and recommendations to the Commission. The CFTC is inviting the public to nominate individuals and propose potential priority topics; nomination submissions should include the nominee’s name, title and organisational affiliation, supporting information on qualifications, and suggested topics to prioritise.
