The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) reported that Governor Ahmet Ismaili met International Finance Corporation (IFC) Europe Regional Director Ines Rocha, alongside newly appointed IFC Regional Director Marcello Castellanos, to review Kosovo financial-sector developments and the CBK’s reform agenda and to confirm continued collaboration. Discussions covered CBK priorities including payments system modernisation, digitalisation of financial services, legal framework enhancements, financial inclusion and financial education, aligned with the CBK Strategic Plan. The meeting also addressed climate and environmental risks, focusing on strengthening the legal framework and institutional capacity to manage these risks in the financial sector, and reviewed IFC-supported projects related to payments system development and the legal framework for non-bank financial institutions. The parties reiterated a joint commitment to continue existing projects and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest aimed at improving access to finance and delivering more inclusive and sustainable financial services in Kosovo.
