The Russian Ministry of Finance published an account of Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk’s meeting with Mongolian Prime Minister Nyam-Osoryn Uchral, focused on expanding bilateral trade, transport links and joint energy and industrial projects. Russian-Mongolian trade increased 18.1% in the first half of 2026, following 4.5% growth to USD 2.7 billion in 2025 and a 40% increase over the past five years. The discussions covered the impact of the provisional trade agreement between Mongolia and the Eurasian Economic Union member states and preparations for the Second Forum of Regions of Russia and Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar on Sept. 14-15. The forum will address Eurasian transport corridors, tourism cooperation and regional connectivity, alongside the first meeting of the joint committee responsible for implementing the trade agreement.
