The Bank of Spain has opened selection processes for secretary general, deputy director general of the General Secretariat and a newly created deputy director general role leading the data-related areas within the Directorate General for Strategy, People and Data. The General Secretariat posts oversee institutional governance, legal and corporate functions, internal controls and risk management, as well as organizational transformation. The secretary general recruitment follows Francisco Javier Priego’s request to move to a less executive position after 15 years in the role. Jaime Herrero will also leave his position as deputy director general for Services, Intervention and Risks to become an adviser to the governor on strategic transparency projects. An international panel of independent experts will advise the governor on the selections. Expressions of interest will remain open until 2 p.m. Central European Time on Sept. 21.
