The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) has awarded National Bank of Dominica Ltd the 2025 Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) Distinguished Bank of the Year title, presented at the ECCU Bank of the Year Awards Ceremony in Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis. National Bank of Dominica also won awards for Customer Service and Technological Innovation, alongside other category winners including Corporate Social Responsibility (Republic Bank (EC) Ltd, Saint Lucia), Financial Education and Empowerment (Bank of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Ltd) and Support to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) (Bank of Saint Lucia Ltd). Launched in 2024, the Distinguished Bank of the Year Award recognises banks that demonstrate an ability to turn challenges into opportunities through strategic initiatives and innovative business practices. Seven commercial banks operating in the ECCU submitted 34 entries; six banks were shortlisted for interviews, which accounted for 30% of the overall score, while online voting represented 20% and attracted over 3,000 public participants.
