The Czech National Bank published updated pension fund statistics showing that total pension fund assets reached CZK 679.3 billion at 31 March 2026. That was up CZK 3.7 billion from the previous quarter and CZK 36.4 billion, or 5.7%, from a year earlier. Quarterly transactions totaled CZK 7.1 billion. Debt securities remained the largest asset class, accounting for 63.1% of assets, although holdings fell by CZK 6.7 billion over the quarter to CZK 428.9 billion. Of that total, government bonds accounted for CZK 394.2 billion and bonds issued by monetary financial institutions for CZK 18.3 billion, with Czech issuers representing 92% of all bond holdings. Deposits and loans provided rose to CZK 112.3 billion, or 16.5% of total assets. Equity securities increased by CZK 6.7 billion to CZK 129.0 billion, including CZK 58.5 billion in listed shares and CZK 70.4 billion in investment fund shares and units. On the liabilities side, pension entitlements stood at CZK 641.8 billion, up CZK 4.9 billion from the previous quarter and CZK 27.8 billion from a year earlier.
