The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority held a one-day internal training for its staff focused on mental health and ethics in the public service, positioning the programme as part of strengthening employee wellbeing and discouraging corruption. The session was opened by Tanzania’s Insurance Commissioner, Dr Baghayo Saqware, at the TAGLA hall within the Institute of Finance Management. The mental health module covered managing workplace stress and avoiding risky behaviours including excessive alcohol use, marijuana smoking and sexual misconduct, while the ethics module revisited eight public service ethical principles including service delivery, obedience to government, diligence, impartiality and integrity.
