The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) have signed a partnership agreement to support venture capital in emerging Asia through joint investments in a portfolio of VC funds. The partnership will prioritise investments across emerging markets in Asia, with a focus on innovative technologies and business models for green and technology-enabled infrastructure in Asia’s emerging economies. The arrangement is also intended to leverage AIIB’s expertise and network in sourcing investable opportunities within an agreed risk management and governance framework, while promoting Hong Kong’s venture capital and innovation ecosystem across the region.
