The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has extended the suspension of trading in derivative contracts for a set of commodities on stock exchanges with a commodity derivatives segment, continuing the ban through March 31, 2027. The contracts covered are paddy (non-basmati), wheat, chana, mustard seeds and its derivatives, soya bean and its derivatives, crude palm oil, and moong. The suspension was originally directed to apply until December 20, 2022 and has been extended multiple times since, including through December 20, 2023, December 20, 2024, January 31, 2025, March 31, 2025 and March 31, 2026.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India has further extended the suspension of trading in derivative contracts for specified commodities on stock exchanges with a commodity derivatives segment through March 31, 2027. The ban covers paddy (non-basmati), wheat, chana, mustard seeds and its derivatives, soya bean and its derivatives, crude palm oil, and moong, and follows multiple prior extensions since the original December 20, 2022 end date.
