Bank of the Lao published a readout of the Securities Commission’s second meeting of 2025, which reviewed implementation of earlier resolutions and approved the work plan for the final six months of 2025 for both the Securities Commission Office and the Lao Securities Exchange. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith in his capacity as Securities Commission chair, heard progress reports covering H1 2025 activities and H2 2025 plans from the head of the Securities Commission Office and the Director General of the Lao Securities Exchange. The commission endorsed the H2 plan and directed the Securities Commission Office and the exchange to prioritise strengthening the Lao capital market and the exchange’s effectiveness, developing conditions to support state-owned enterprise reform via capital market mechanisms, promoting the issuance of green bonds on the Lao Securities Exchange, and implementing International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for listed companies.
