France's Financial Markets Authority (AMF) issued an investor alert about fraudulent communications and advertisements offering investment services while impersonating Financière du Nogentais, which has no public-facing investment services activity. The AMF urged investors to disregard any solicitations made under this name. After being alerted by the company’s management and a media group following the appearance of false advertisements, the AMF added www.gestion.finance to its blacklist of unauthorised websites. The site is not authorised to offer investment services, allegedly usurps the identity of Financière du Nogentais, and falsely claims to be regulated by the AMF. The authority also reiterated standard precautions for retail investors, including avoiding sharing personal and banking details with unverified sites, being wary of promises of high returns, and checking that a firm is authorised in France, including via the AMF’s blacklists.
