Commodity Futures Trading Commission appoints Rahul Varma as Acting Director of the Division of Market Oversight

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced that Rahul Varma will serve as Acting Director of its Division of Market Oversight. Varma has worked at the CFTC since 2013, including roles overseeing market surveillance across energy, metals, agricultural and softs markets, helping establish the Division’s Market Intelligence Branch in 2017, and most recently serving as Deputy Director for the combined Market Intelligence and Product Review branches. Prior to joining the CFTC, he held risk management and consulting roles in the private sector and worked at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Office of Market Oversight and Investigations.
