The Qatar Financial Centre reported that its Web Summit Qatar 2025 programme drew more than 1,600 companies and included the launch of the QFC Metaverse, a digital platform within the QFC Innovation Dome intended as a cross-border financial and fintech hub. Incentives for firms registering during the event included zero application fees, waived annual fees for the first four years and tax benefits. During the summit, QFC signed MoUs with German Mittelstand to support German small and medium-sized enterprises entering Qatar by providing regulatory guidance and business development support, and with Qatar National Bank to collaborate on banking innovation, including fintech development, alternative funding sources and attracting venture capital for local startups and fintech firms. The QFC Metaverse is positioned to promote QFC and its clients, enable business networking, showcase fintech and digital asset solutions, and support education and capacity building.
