At the BELTALKS Belgrade Economic Talks, First Deputy Prime Minister and caretaker Finance Minister Siniša Mali presented Serbia’s investment grade credit rating as evidence of its economic performance and investment appeal. Speaking on a panel about making the Western Balkans more attractive to investors, he noted that Serbia is the region’s only country with an investment grade rating. Mali reported economic growth of 3.8% in the second quarter of 2026, public debt equal to 43.9% of gross domestic product and unemployment of 7.2%. He also cited a stable dinar exchange rate, record foreign exchange and gold reserves, and EUR 5.2 billion of foreign direct investment inflows in 2024. Expo 2027 Belgrade, expected to attract participants from more than 140 countries, will provide a platform to present Serbia’s investment potential and economic offering.
