The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago issued a public notice warning that MEDISERV International Limited and several associated entities are not registered under the Insurance Act to conduct insurance business, or to operate as an insurance agency or brokerage, in or from within Trinidad and Tobago. It cautioned that members of the public dealing with these entities for insurance products do so at their own risk. The notice referenced a High Court injunction granted on April 13, 2021 restraining MEDISERV from carrying on insurance business without being registered by the Central Bank. It identified Salubrity Limited, Society of the Ventures & Investments Programme (VIP) also known as Ventures & Investments Programme (VIP), 5Krew also known as D5 O’Clock Krew, and Capital Ventures Limited as MEDISERV affiliates or associated bodies/persons/programmes that are also unregistered, and urged anyone who has transacted with or received proposals from MEDISERV or these entities to contact the Central Bank; the Central Bank also pointed to its website listing registered insurers, agents and brokers.
