October 2025 marked the system’s highest monthly value to date, while the peak monthly volume was 183,013 transactions in October 2024. The TCIB payments scheme settled 267 transactions worth ZAR 365.54 million; participation covered 15 countries and 88 banks (including central banks), with eight TCIB scheme participants. Daily-average overnight balances excluding the South African Reserve Bank were ZAR 2,904.65 million across 80 participants, split between ZAR 120.61 million held by other central banks and ZAR 2,784.04 million held by commercial banks.
