The Australian Securities & Investments Commission and the Australian Accounting Standards Board are offering three free online webinars, alongside eight interactive e-learning modules released by ASIC, to help entities understand the core concepts behind the new sustainability reporting requirements. The material is framed as introductory capability building, particularly for smaller and mid-size companies preparing climate-related financial disclosures, but it may also be relevant to other current or prospective reporting entities and to directors, advisers, employees and creditors. The requirements will apply in phases, with many companies due to report for the first time after 1 July 2026. The webinars, scheduled for 16, 25 and 30 June 2026, will cover climate science, physical and transition risks, climate-related opportunities, greenhouse gas emissions accounting, scenario analysis, governance, and risk management. Presentations will be delivered by the University of Technology Sydney, followed by short Q&A sessions with ASIC and the university. The eight e-learning modules cover the Corporations Act and climate-related disclosure requirements, climate change, risks and opportunities, emissions accounting, scenario analysis, and governance and risk management.
