The European Commission has opened applications for the newly established Energy Transition Investment Council and its National Promotional Banks and Institutions and International Financial Institutions Coordination subgroup. The council will provide strategic feedback on aligning EU policies and funding instruments with investor needs to support long-term private investment in the energy sector, as envisaged in the March 2026 Clean Energy Investment Strategy. The council will have up to 30 members drawn from private capital providers, commercial finance, public financial institutions and energy industry associations. The European Investment Bank Group, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators will be directly invited. The subgroup will coordinate public financial institutions and promote practices intended to streamline and increase capital flows into clean energy projects. Applications for both bodies close on Nov. 4, 2026.
