The Philippines Insurance Commission published preliminary first-quarter 2026 data showing growth in insurance premiums, assets and benefit payments. Total premiums increased to PHP 140.85 billion from PHP 124.48 billion a year earlier, while benefits paid rose to PHP 43.44 billion from PHP 39.01 billion. Total assets increased to PHP 2.65 trillion from PHP 2.48 trillion, and invested assets rose to PHP 2.37 trillion from PHP 2.19 trillion. Net income declined 1.75%, mainly because of higher benefit payments. Insurance penetration increased to 2.03%, while insurance density reached PHP 1,231.61 per person.
