Uruguay's Ministry of Economy and Finance published updated retail price data for August 2026, covering 207 product variants across 85 categories of food, beverages, household cleaning and personal care products, and fruit and vegetables. The data were supplied by 749 supermarkets, self-service stores and pharmacies nationwide and reflect daily consumer prices including taxes. Prices increased for 112 variants by an average of 1.40%, with a maximum rise of 10.65%. Another 82 variants recorded an average decline of 1.45%, including a maximum reduction of 18.80%, while six were unchanged. Among large supermarket chains' own-brand products, five increased in price, one decreased and one remained unchanged.
