The Seychelles Financial Services Authority issued a public warning about alleged unauthorised virtual asset services activity linked to https://azbit.com/, which it says is allegedly operated by AZ Markets Limited. The authority said the company does not, and has not, had authorisation to operate under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024 and is only incorporated as an international business company under the International Business Companies Act, 2016. The authority added that AZ Markets Limited has been established as not in good standing due to unpaid annual fees due to the Financial Services Authority. It reminded consumers to verify whether virtual asset service providers and virtual asset products are licensed or authorised in the jurisdiction they claim to operate from, noting that the authority publishes on its website the list of persons authorised or licensed to offer non-bank financial services (including virtual asset services) as well as registrations of initial coin offerings and non-fungible tokens, and it encouraged reporting of suspected unlicensed activity via its website.
