Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) held a Student Integrity Campaign at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat in Banjarmasin to build awareness among young people of good governance and integrity in the financial services sector amid increasingly complex technological and social challenges. The session, attended by 440 students in person and 420 online, formed part of OJK’s ongoing Governance Roadshow across Indonesia. Audit Board Chair Sophia Wattimena outlined an approach in which strengthening governance goes beyond supervision to include advisory support and risk management, describing “insight” (advisory), “oversight” (audit), and “foresight” (risk management) functions. She also highlighted rising cyber-enabled fraud risk in the financial sector and the need to apply governance principles to the deployment of technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, alongside OJK’s preventive measures to reinforce supervision and consumer protection. OJK framed the programme as a continuing series of outreach activities in multiple regions to embed governance and integrity values beyond the workplace and into the broader public sphere.
