In remarks at the European University of Tirana graduation ceremony, the Bank of Albania said the Albanian economy and banking sector increasingly need professionals who can combine economics and finance knowledge with data analysis, technology, artificial intelligence and cyber risk management. It described digitalization and AI as reshaping work and banking, with banks of the future becoming technological as well as financial institutions, and urged graduates to use these tools to raise productivity rather than be displaced by them. The bank linked that message to its own staffing needs and cooperation with academia. It said it is looking for professionals with analytical and technological skills and a willingness to learn continuously, praised the university's model of aligning curricula with industry and the labor market, and highlighted programs that combine finance with technology. Cooperation with universities was presented as a channel for exchanging research and projections on the economy, finance and the banking system, while also identifying future researchers, analysts and finance professionals. Students were directed to advertised positions, internships, collaborations and participation in the bank's scientific and educational activities as ways to enter the institution or the wider banking system. The speech also highlighted the Governor's Award for the Best Diploma, which the Bank of Albania uses to recognize thesis work from students in economics, finance, management and business administration, and encouraged applications to this year's competition.
