The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) convened the second session and fourth meeting of its fourth Workers Council in Kibaha, with Insurance Commissioner Dr. Baghayo Saqware urging staff to prioritise the institution’s priorities to support wider national and government objectives, including strengthening the insurance sector’s contribution to socio-economic development. The meeting brought together TIRA staff from different cadres to discuss employee welfare, delivery of the authority’s duties and practical ways to improve performance to meet TIRA, sector and national goals. In closing, Dr. Saqware called for continued diligence and professionalism aligned with the National Development Vision 2050, and reaffirmed TIRA’s focus on effective supervision of insurance activities, protection of insurance customers’ rights and strengthening the stability and resilience of the insurance sector.
