The European Payments Council has published the SEPA Request-To-Pay Inter-SRTP Service Provider API Specifications, completing the documentation set for the SEPA Request-To-Pay (SRTP) scheme. Aligned to the SRTP Scheme Rulebook version 4.0, the specifications define application programming interfaces supporting the SRTP flow for exchanges between SRTP service providers using the ISO 20022 messaging standard. They set out communications between the payee’s service provider acting as client and the payer’s service provider acting as server, including an option for asynchronous callbacks via a URL callback. The specifications are publicly available and become effective on 5 October 2025.
