The Bank of Spain has launched the “Close to you” public information campaign at the Banco de España Metro station in Madrid to explain the central bank’s main functions and how they affect citizens’ everyday lives, as part of a push to improve transparency and accountability. The initiative is the first practical outcome of an agreement under which Metro de Madrid will provide space at the station for the Bank of Spain’s educational campaigns for two years. Content will be displayed through physical and digital formats in the station and via a dedicated website and the Bank’s social media, with the launch presented by Governor José Luis Escrivá and Deputy Governor Soledad Núñez alongside Metro’s Director of Customer, Brand and Media Miguel Oliver. Further campaigns are planned during the term of the agreement, with the next action expected to focus on the Bank of Spain’s participation in Open Administration Week in the second half of May.
