The Central Bank of Iraq has announced auctions of conventional central bank bills and Islamic certificates of deposit, both with seven day terms and a 5.25% rate. The auctions, designated W524 and ICD832, will be executed on Sept. 8, 2026, through the Central Securities Depository system. Conventional and Islamic banks must meet the applicable private sector IQD deposit threshold to participate. Conventional banks must hold at least IQD 50 billion in such deposits, while Islamic banks must hold more than IQD 50 billion. Subscription amounts must range from IQD 50 billion to IQD 500 billion, based on deposit data as of Aug. 13, 2026, submitted through the Banking Supervision Reporting System.
