The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced that, by order of the Head of State, Dauren Niyazbekuly Salimbayev has been appointed as Deputy Chair. Before the appointment, Salimbayev served since 2020 as Director of the Agency’s Department of Methodology and Prudential Regulation of Financial Organisations, leading work on regulatory approaches and methods, maintaining equal conditions for financial institutions, and countering abuses in the financial market. The Agency also highlighted his involvement in drafting prudential standards, the Concept for Development of Kazakhstan’s Financial Sector to 2030, and major legislation including the new Law "On Banks and Banking Activity" aimed at modernising and strengthening the resilience of the banking system, as well as prior roles at the National Bank of Kazakhstan in prudential supervision methodology and banking supervision.
